Arya News Agency -A court in the occupied territories has sentenced 31-year-old Alexander Granovsky to 31.5 years in prison on charges of maintaining contact with an Iran-linked entity and carrying out security-related missions.
According to Hebrew Media, the prosecution of the Zionist regime described this ruling as the harshest sentence to date in such cases.
Hebrew Channel 7 reported that the Tel Aviv Central District Court issued the verdict against Granovsky, a resident of Petah Tikva, after convicting him of contacting an Iranian agent and receiving financial compensation for security tasks.
According to alleged case details reported by Hebrew media, Granovsky maintained frequent contact with his handler via the Telegram messaging app during the war, executing several instructed missions. These allegedly included photographing power plant facilities and the residential area of Knesset member Benny Gantz, and transmitting the footage to his handler.
The indictment further claims these tasks involved arson attacks on nine vehicles, writing graffiti, attempting to damage military uniforms, and assisting in identifying individuals with criminal records. The prosecution alleged that payments for these activities were transferred to a digital wallet, with investigations citing that he received hundreds of shekels for writing graffiti and 1,000 shekels for initiating one of the fires.
The Israeli Security Agency (Shin Bet) and the police announced his arrest in December 2024. Hebrew media reported that during interrogations, Granovsky confessed to requesting money but claimed he was not prepared to carry out assassinations.
This ruling emerges as the Zionist regime's security agencies have recently announced a series of cases involving the alleged recruitment of Israelis for missions on behalf of Iran-linked entities. Notably, in October 2024, Shin Bet and the police announced the dismantling of a seven-member network allegedly gathering intelligence on military bases and energy facilities for Iranian agents. Furthermore, in February and March 2026, Zionist authorities disclosed additional cases of Israeli citizens communicating with Iranian intelligence agencies for financial gain, several of which have been referred to the courts.
