Arya News - Kane has spoken numerous times over the years about wanting to be an NFL kicker.
Harry Kane has captained England at World Cups and European Championships, won league titles with Bayern Munich , as well as numerous individual awards. There"s still much left for him to accomplish in soccer, but the star striker has eyes on a unique way to end his professional career.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday while on international duty with England, Kane said that the possibility exists that he could one day play in MLS while also serving as a placekicker for an NFL team.
"That is something I will try and look at a bit more seriously," Kane said via The Athletic . "It all depends on what happens in my career over the next five or six years, the motivation and what I want to do. The NFL is a lot more realistic than the golf one, let"s put it that way."
The Harry Kane-turned-NFL-kicker idea isn"t anything new with the 2026 Ballon d"Or nominee . Back in 2019, he told ESPN"s Bruce Schoenfeld that he would want to try it in "10 or 12 years."
Kane, who turned 33 in July, is eager to play as long as he can at the highest level. He scored 61 goals in all competitions for Bayern Munich last season, helping the German club to a second straight Bundesliga title, as well as the German Cup and Supercup.

But while he"s still at the height of his powers, Kane sees a day where playing in MLS might suit him, which could allow him to pursue the Deion Sanders route of being a two-sport star.
"Maybe if I am in the MLS in the future or somewhere like that it might be a thing where you could connect the two, with the seasons," Kane said. "But it is in the back of my mind because right now, I am feeling that I want to play as long as I can here."
Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey is an example of a soccer player-turned kicker.
Aubrey played college soccer at Notre Dame and was a first-round pick by Toronto FC in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft. After having been out of soccer since 2018, Aubrey began working on his placekicking before being drafted by the Birmingham Stallion of the USFL in 2022. A year later, he was signed by the Cowboys.
Kane said placekicking uses a similar technique and provides similar pressure as a penalty kick in soccer.
"If I did that, in terms of training, I would be closer to that more than to any other sport," Kane said. "But as I know, with all elite sports, when you watch it on TV, people make it look easy, and you think it is possible, but that is not always the case. If I was to do it, it is something I would take seriously. I would take six months to a year to try and practice before."
Kane, who said he was "fairly close" on a new contract with Bayern Munich, doesn"t have the final years of his career mapped out just yet. But he"s already started thinking about what"s next for him.
"I think sometimes it is easy to get to my age, 33, you start thinking about retirement or the future but I am trying to extract everything I can from the last two, five or 10 years, I will keep going."
